We’re hosting the closing party of Nordic Exposure: A Nordic Literary Journey on Sunday, September 20, with a night stretching from Nordic deep-dives to globe-spanning dancefloor cuts.
Founded in 2012, Discotecă is a pop-sonic archaeology collective dedicated to resurfacing Romanian recordings from the 1960s through the 1990s. Their work reconnects today’s dancefloors with a layered musical past, tracing how these sounds once lived and breathed in public, recontextualising RomPop through performances by local stars of those eras, DJ sets and excavations into local music archives.
For this special event, the Discotecă collective immerses itself for one night in the Nordic musical realm, unearthing gems for the boreal dancefloor at Control Club.

DJ Keti Lula Baluba plays upbeat, dancefloor-ready music from all corners of the world, blending Balkan rhythms, Afro grooves, reggae, dancehall, Latin beats and unexpected tracks into vibrant sets at the intersection of different musical genres. She has played at clubs and festivals both in Norway and internationally, including Romania’s Balkanik Festival and, more recently, the official FITS afterparty in Sibiu. Each set is created in the moment, guided by the energy of the crowd and always driven by an irresistible beat.

Nordic Exposure: A Nordic Literary Journey is a festival dedicated to Nordic literature translated into Romanian, taking place in Bucharest from September 16 to 20, 2026, marking its inaugural edition. Over five days, the festival creates a space for encounters and conversations, bringing together contemporary Nordic authors, translators, publishers and, of course, readers. A cultural experience that uses books as a starting point to explore a range of Nordic perspectives on society, fear, love, friendship and history, as seen through the lens of literature.
